time in jackson
i wish i had more to document our time in jackson but since my eyes were closed most of the time (yay!) i just have these few videos:
on a walk, still lots of snow this time of year though by the time we left it was sunny in the 50s/60s.
sayan LOVED when auntie would jump up and down. he thought it was just hilarious and would laugh and laugh.

update
its been awhile since i wrote an update so here goes--
sayan and i just spent 2 weeks with papa and mimi and auntie while daddy took a "boy trip" of his own. i think i slept more during those past two weeks than i have since sayan was born. it was so wonderful!!
sayan is really getting the hang of crawling these days, he cruises all around and now tries to pull himself up on everything. we are in process of baby proofing and realizing its a much bigger job than just plugging the sockets! for instance a sturdy wood side table that normally would not be a threat has felt pads so it doesn't scratch the floor and thus becomes "dangerous" as he tries to pull himself up and it goes shooting away from him. what to do? i've been told he'll learn what furniture is sturdy and what isn't and just give him time?
nap time has become another challenge now that he is more mobile. when he wakes up he rarely cries and doesn't necessarily make any noise for the monitor to pick up. many times i've gone in to check on him and he's sitting up in bed playing with toys or the pillow. now that he is crawling i'm a bit nervous he will wake up and crawl right out of bed. mimi suggested putting him down on a pallatte on the floor until he learns how to safely get out of bed. this seems the best suggestion for now.
he is teething up a storm, i think working on his molars as we can't see or feel any more front teeth (he has 8 in so far) and he tries to get things way back in his mouth.
his mood is still generally sunny though he has begun to throw baby fits when he doesn't get his way. because his fits are more the exception than the rule jai and i are just amused by them, think it's so cute that he is getting so much more opinionated. though talking on the phone is almost impossible with him these days. he MUST hold the phone and more often than not ends up hanging up on whomever i am talking to.
sayan is eating more these days, we still try to favor simple foods, lots of veggies and fruit and a few grains/dahl. though jaison gave him a bit of a cracker yesterday which he loved-- refined flour, butter, salt and probably sugar-- what's not to like?
it's finally spring here in fairfield and we are spending lots more time outside which sayan really enjoys. lots of stroller rides and playing in the grass. well, playing in the grass at other people's houses as our yard is still mostly a mud pit and needs to be reseeded.
sayan is connecting more and more with kids his age or a little older. we went to a birthday party for una the other day and he was fascinated by the "big kids" and is starting to give and take toys from them and tries to hug and kiss them. pretty cute.
now that i'm home i hope to be a little better about keeping up the blog!

footage from a month ago that i never got a chance to post-- sayan loves his books that granma and nana made him. we read them before bed and he has them for when he wakes up from nap time.
