ocean baptism

while in california we had a baptism ceremony for sayan at a malibu beach. it was very sweet and special-- as we arrived at the beach we saw at least 8 dolphins right off shore and they stayed around playing for 10-15 minutes.

fun in the sun

we had such a wonderful time in california, it was so nice to get a break from the bleak iowa winter and spend time outside. it was so fun seeing sayan play outdoors-- we'd set him up with his basket of toys and just let him enjoy.

the face

a couple of weeks ago sayan started making the funniest face-- he would scrunch up his nose and mouth and breathe really heavy then start laughing. we attempted to capture it on video and camera but it doesn't really do it justice.

puppies!

so it turns out sayan is definitely a dog person-- he was obsessed with his "cousin" axle, kept wanting to follow him around and would get sooo excited to pet or otherwise have contact with him. here is a clip of sayan meeting dominic, one of axle's friends. i think i have some video of sayan and axle but can't find it yet. though maybe not, we (read me) misplaced our camera for a good part of the vacation.

papa gave sayan these red shoes when he was 3 days old-- i remember thinking then "those are huge, they'll fit him in a few years, maybe." well, he's almost outgrown them!
