sleep!!

daddy took sayan last night-- ALL NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! we are going to try to night wean him so he sleeps better (and we sleep better) and so i went and slept in the other room thinking he might come in at any minute if it got too bad but i woke up to the sunrise this morning and couldn't believe he had done it. yay daddy!! he said sayan woke up 4-5 times and was fussy, crying outright at times but he would give him a sip of water and a chamomille pill to suck on. he said he talked to him and explained what was going on and that seemed to calm sayan down enough for him to sing/rock him to sleep. i'm not sure if we'll try this consistently now or wait til he's a year old to really start but at least i got a full night's sleep. wow.

down on the farm

grama brought sayan the coolest little farm animals that make their animal noise when you squeeze them-- at first he was a bit shy but quickly warmed up to them :) oh also a "down on the farm" book that sayan chooses to be read before nap time every day.

mother's day

i'm finally getting a chance to post some clips from our mother's day weekend. granma, granpa and nana decided to come for a spontanteous visit that weekend. we had a such a great time!

lillian's visit

genevra and lillian came to visit last weekend-- we had such a wonderful time with them. lillian is the most beautiful little girl! we wish we lived closer together...

play yard

daddy put this play yard together for sayan-- it's great, he is able to roam around and play and i'm able to get things done without having to check on him every 2 seconds! now it's more like every 6 seconds ;)

lounging in the park

so i've been trying to figure out why i've been so bad about blogging this month and i realized-- it's because it's soooooo nice out here-- finally! we spend most of our time outside. sayan loves splashing about in the reservoir and the little kiddie pools we have. i'm going to try to set up a pool for him by our garden so he will be able to play while i work out there. we do lots of picnics and outdoor playdates. i'm sure he's eaten just about everything there is to find in the lawn :)

laundry helper

sayan is into all things laundry these days-- he loves watching the spinning machines, he'll sit in front of them forever. he got adventurous the other day and decided to go in for a closer look:



he also takes every opportunity to "unload" the basket for me. pretty cute.

beautiful day

sayan and i went to the reservoir today, it was a beautiful day. he spent most of his time discovering new forbidden things to try to eat: leaves, flowers, pine needles, and my personal favorite, a dried up earthworm. the setting was so gorgeous, i really wish i had phil's touch with the camera!
